2023 Atlanta Fly Fishing Show

The 2023 Atlanta Fly Fishing Show was a resounding success. Since this event began several years ago, the Georgia Council of Trout Unlimited has manned a booth and spread the TU message: “bringing together diverse interests to care for and recover rivers and streams so our children can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon.” This year was no exception. It was the most attended post-COVID fly fishing show to date and it had significantly more vendors than last year. As always, council officers and past chapter presidents manned our booth. In addition to the regular volunteers, the council enjoyed the company of two of our young members. Nathan Philips, a Ga. Trout Camp Graduate and a member of the North Paulding 5 Rivers Club for 4 years, along with Sawyer Maddux, who is an active member of TU Nationals “Youth Leadership Council” (YLC) and the NPHS 5 Rivers Club, worked tirelessly for all three days of the show. Countless attendees stopped by our booth, and numerous people bought “Dream Trip Tickets” or became members of TU. The Ga. Council is already discussing our participation in next year’s show.
