On March the 11th, 2026, The Georgia Council of Trout Unlimited, Ga. DNR Fisheries and the Georgia Wildlife Federation hosted several of our lawmakers from the “Sportsman’s Caucus” to the 2nd annual trout fishing trip and fish-fry on the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta. GATU provided guides & equipment. Ga. DNR stocked the location with Rainbow Trout & provided equipment. The Georgia Wildlife Federation organized & promoted the event to our legislators. Retired Director of Wildlife Resources, Ted Will, served as head cook and provided everyone with fried fish, hushpuppies, coleslaw & potato salad. Our Representatives enjoyed learning about & experiencing Georgia’s Cold-Water Resources.

2. River Through Atlanta owner and guide Chris Scalley is putting some of our State Lawmakers on some trout.
